Sunday 21st October, 10.00 am – Liverpool Hyperbaric Chamber
Understanding decompression sickness, lung over expansion injury and the necessary medical treatment required is extremely important for any diver. Sub-Mission Dive Club is once again visiting Liverpool Hyperbaric Chamber for an informative and exciting day out with a 50m dive in the facilities recompression chamber. |
The day will start with an extremely useful presentation about the facility and the work that the hyperbaric chamber carries out. You’ll learn about the factors that increase the risk of decompression illness, ways to make you’re diving safer and more conservative and the steps you should take if you detect any of the symptoms of decompression sickness.
You’ll also experience the effects of diving to 50 metres during a dry dive in the facilities recompression chamber. Feel for yourself the bizarre effects of nitrogen narcosis and laugh as your fellow divers talk like Mickey Mouse due to the mix of helium in the gas in the chamber!
This is one of the most enjoyable & informative experiences available, a definite must for all divers!!
