The CourseDeep diving is not only challenging but extremely exhilarating!!! With the PADI Deep Diver specialty course you will be able to experience that excitement first hand by extending your recreational depth limit to 40 metres. During the course you will learn how to plan, set-up & execute deep dives with particular consideration to factors such as increased air consumption, temperature changes, shorter no-decompression limits and physiological effects like nitrogen narcosis. By the end of the course you will be confident in your ability to safely dive deeper and understand how to avoid or deal with problems associated with deeper diving. Knowledge DevelopmentKnowledge development is based on a self-study method, allowing you to study in your own time, at your own pace. Home study is backed up by an academic session with a PADI Instructor, to ensure full understanding of deep diving theory. Open Water DivesStudents must complete 4 Open Water dives to certify as a PADI Deep Diver. Each dive has specific tasks designed to help students understand the safety techniques, equipment selection and physiological aspects of deeper diving. Timed tasks, navigational exercises & simulated emergency decompression stops are amongst the skills completed during the 4 dives.

Course PrerequisitesStudents must be certified as a PADI Adventure Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization similar to that of a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. Minimum age is 15. All students must fill in a PADI Medical Questionnaire prior to participation.

What Next?Now that you have mastered the techniques & equipment considerations for deep diving, why not put these skills to good use during the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course. Your extended depth limits will allow you to make limited wreck penetrations of a maximum of 40 linear metres. If you have completed 5 PADI Specialties & the PADI Rescue Diver course and have 50 logged dives, you qualify to register as a PADI Master Scuba Diver, the highest non-professional diver rating within PADI. Sub-mission also offers a Dive Club, where you can keep your dive skills up to date & make new buddies with people who share your passion for diving.
