The Course
Diving from a boat is practically essential for divers to access the most incredible dives, here in the UK and abroad. Proper diving etiquette is critical, especially on the smallest of water craft and so the PADI Boat diver Specialty course aims to guide divers in the best ways to dive from different types of boats.
Students will learn the most effective entry and exit techniques from various boats, essential equipment that boats carry and where it could be located as well as general boating terminology.
Course Content
The course consists of a knowledge development session & 2 Open water dives which will cover:
- Planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of boat diving
- Boat diving entries/exits and use of emergency/safety equipment
- Correct boat etiquette, personal conduct, basic dive boat terminology & local boat diving laws
Knowledge Development
Knowledge development is based on a self-study method, allowing you to study in your own time, at your own pace. Home study is backed up by an academic session with a PADI Instructor, to ensure full understanding of boat diving theory.
Open Water Dives
Students must complete 2 Open Water dives from a boat to certify as a PADI Boat Diver. During these dives you will choose appropriate entry/exit methods, locate safety equipment and identify specific parts of the boat.
