The Course

The PADI Certification is recognised in more countries around the world than any other diving certification and is your ticket to discover what the underwater world has to offer!! From beautiful coral reefs, historical ship wrecks to swimming with graceful manta rays.

The PADI Open Water Referral is perfect for those who want to dive on holiday & ensures you do not waste your time inside a classroom or training pool whilst on holiday. It allows you to complete all the theory and swimming pool sessions here with us in Stoke-On-Trent, freeing up your holiday to enjoy the fabulous wrecks and reefs.

So if you are a total beginner with a thirst for adventure, and want to get the best diving opportunities whilst on holiday, then the PADI Open Water Referral program could be the program for you.

Pre-Requisites

  • All students must fill in a PADI Medical Questionnaire prior to participation.
  • Minimum age is 10. Children aged between 10 & 15 will be awarded the PADI Junior Open Water certification once all 4 qualifying open water dives have been completed.

Course Content

The course structure is modular consisting of Knowledge Development & Confined Water training sessions.

Knowledge Development

Knowledge Development is based on a self-study method, allowing you to study in your own time, at your own pace. Home study is backed up by 5 Academic sessions with a PADI Instructor, to ensure full understanding of essential diving theory.

Confined Water Sessions

During your 5 confined pool sessions, you will learn the skills necessary to dive safely and with confidence. Perfecting buoyancy and learning to clear your mask of water are among the fun and exciting skills that your PADI Instructor will teach you.

Sub-Mission Dive School offers extra pool time for additional skills practice if required. This ensures students optimize mastery of learning and are confident to transfer pool skills to the open water environment. Watermanship skills must be demonstrated, you don't have to be a strong swimmer as long as you can complete a 200-metre swim and a 10 minute tread water.
