Course ContentThe course structure is modular consisting of Knowledge Development, Confined Water training sessions & Open Water Dives. Knowledge DevelopmentKnowledge Development is based on a self-study method, allowing you to study in your own time, at your own pace. Home study is backed up by 5 Academic sessions with a PADI Instructor, to ensure full understanding of essential diving theory. Confined Water SessionsDuring your 5 Confined pool sessions, you will learn the skills necessary to dive safely and with confidence. Perfecting buoyancy and learning to clear your mask of water are among the fun and exciting skills that your PADI Instructor will teach you. Sub-Mission Dive School offers extra pool time for additional skills practice and familiarisation of Dry-Suit use. This ensures students optimize mastery of learning and are confident to transfer pool skills to the open water environment. Watermanship skills must be demonstrated prior to the Open Water phase of the course. You don't have to be a strong swimmer as long as you can complete a 200-metre swim and a 10 minute tread water. Open Water DivesThere are 4 Open Water Dives, during which you will demonstrate the skills that you have learnt during your confined pool sessions. These dives are normally conducted over two days, at a U.K inland Dive Site. This will be your first amazing and exhilarating experience of Open Water under the guidance of a PADI Instructor. |
