Sub-Mission Dive Trip - Having A Whale Of A Time In The Red Sea
It must be said that as the first Sub-Mission holiday of 2008, Sharm el Shaikh has really set our expectations very high for the other holidays this year. There was a huge variation of experience levels on board our boat for the week. Jack completed his Open Water certification whilst Darren and I completed our TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. It was great to have such a unique mix of people and diving experience all on one boat. The local sites to Sharm were teeming with marine life. Most of the group were lucky enough to see Manta Rays three days running as well as an abundance of Eagle Rays, Napolean Wrass, Dolphins and White tip Reef Sharks. After Darren and I missed all of the really good stuff, we did have the pleasure of snorkelling with a beautiful whale shark! It was great to see everybody beaming after every dive, enthusiasm and excitement unrelenting! Even getting up early in the morning wasn’t a chore when we were all so curious about what we would see each day!Diving was definitely the main focus of the holiday but the Sub-Mission team still found time to beat the Emperor staff at a drinking game on the last night! Apparently, not something that happens very often so well done everyone! It was a fantastic time of year to be in the Red Sea and plans are already underway for next year’s trip.
